Wagwear Canvas Dog Bed

Wagwearcanvasdogbed Oooh... I like this! A dog bed made of 18 oz duck canvas, it comes in seven colors + that beigy canvas color. It arrives all rolled up for travel.

I like how this looks like a little storage box that The Container Store would sell for use in your desk or closet. But instead of storing old files or out-of-season sweaters, you're storing a box full of puppy!

eiCrate Dog Crate

Iecratedogcrate Via MightyGoods comes this amazing-looking dog crate. Made from powder-coated steel and featuring two locks and a leak-proof rubber mat, it will fit dogs up to 40 lbs. It comes in five different metallic/neutral colors. If you're feeling fancy, you could get the eiCrate starter kit which also includes a cover and specially designed bed.

But you know why I like it, right?

It looks like Spaceship Earth from Epcot.

My Pillow Dog Bed

Mypillowdogbed Genius! Annie makes dog bed covers that fit over one of your own pillows (cue Steve Martin: "Those aren't pillows!"). This has two distinct advantages: 1) You can change out colors as often as you want and 2) your old pillow smells like you, which your dog seems to like (even though you had that goat cheese and roasted garlic appetizer).

If your dog is a snuggle bug, they can climb right in under the covers. If not, they can just lie right on top. The bed covers are made of eco-friendly fleece material spun from recycled plastic, and you can mix and match the colors to your own taste.

Even though these are handmade by "Annie's Sweatshop," don't worry. It's just Annie's sweat that's shed. But not on the dog beds.

Cooling Water Bed

Coolingdogbed I have to say, although this would have been great for Bliss (what, with all her hair), she was afraid of it and wouldn't use it. The tile floor was good enough for her. But if your dog isn't a big chicken like mine is, and if you live in warmer climes, this would be wonderful for those triple-digit days.

Foldable Fuzzy Dog Bed

Foldablefuzzydogbed It's like a folding lawn chair, but it's a dog bed, and with a fuzzy green covering instead of the nylon straps that leave horrible marks on the back of your legs. Unfortunately, there's only the one size (and Bliss could barely fit her fluffy butt on it). Made from aluminum and terylene fiber.

I'd like to buy the dog too, please. (Just kidding, Bliss.)

Dog Clothes Armoire

Dogclothesarmoire I'm supposed to hate this, right? I'm supposed to think this is just way, way over-the-top and how can people buy these things for their dogs and who has that many clothes for their dog anyway?

God help me, I wish Bliss had a wardrobe of cute little things I could put in this. IT COMES WITH BONE-SHAPED HANGERS PAINTED TO MATCH!

Feeling... woozy...

"Heart Attack" Dog Bed

Heartattackdogbed I'm not crazy about the name of this bed (and neither is Bliss, considering her heart surgery at a young age), but it's completely cute and pink and valentiney, so we'll let it go. It's made of a velour terry cloth (no thirsty loops for little claws to catch on) and, you know, is pink and red and has a heart on it. Which makes it completely relevant for Valentine's Day.

Hydrant Dog Bed

Hydrantdogbed Lately Bliss has been more into blankets and less into fluffy beds. Not sure why that is, but I wish she would have told us this would happen before we bought her a cushy bed that was approximately the same cost as a Hyundai. She might be more into something like this now - it's more mat and less bed. It comes in three colors (blue, orange and khaki) with the reverse in chocolate brown; of course the cover is removable and washable.

Soapnuts Dog Bed Detergent

Soapnuts_300p_x_225p You read right. Soapnuts (hee hee hee). The organic way to wash your dog's bed; these little soapnuts (hee hee hee) are grown in Nepal and India and have been used as a natural detergent by people worldwide. To use, drop a couple of soapnuts (hee hee hee) in the bag, and toss in the washer with the dog bed. The soap (hee - oh.) is released as soon as it comes in contact with the water. You can use them a couple of times, then throw on top of the compost heap.

Soapnuts.

Wouf Pouf Dog Bed

Wp4 Ahh... relaxing in the paw of luxury! The big, leather, stuffed paw of luxury. This dog bed, shaped like a big, fat, dog paw, is constructed from steer hide and stuffed with polyester "memory" fill. It's "veternarian endorsed" (I'm not sure what that means. If a vet says, "Yes, that's a good place for a dog to sleep," or, "What a great paw-shaped bed," does that mean it's endorsed?) and, since it's made of leather, won't capture dirt or hair. It just slides right off. Onto your floor.

It sure is cute, though. In brown, red, or green on beige, and fits pets up to 35 pounds.
