There's something about this sweater that I really like. Maybe because it's casual. Maybe because it's Irish. Maybe because it's something I would wear myself (albeit in a slightly larger size). I just like the chunkiness of it and the nubbliness of it ("nubbliness" is indeed a word. Because I said so). Made of acrylic (therefore washable) and has ribbed cuffs and collar for that perfect fit.

As much as it pains me to do so, it's time to move away from the Halloween doggie items (since, if you haven't purchased your Internet doggie Halloween stuff by now, you're probably SOL) and look toward the coming season.
Looking at the San Francisco forecast, it looks like we're in for a little rain. Usually, this means Bliss stays inside, because a) any suggestion of moisture makes her substantial coat mat, and b) she can't stand to get her little princess feet wet. For those of you with lower-maintenance pups and can head out in wet weather, you can give them a little stylish protection.
This raincoat from the oh-so-creative George, is a clear vinyl with the trademark "good dog" insignia scattered about in stoplight colors. It has a velcro closing around the neck to keep your pooch nice and dry.

Look at this totally fall dog sweater! Could it be any more totally fall than this? No. I totally don't think so. This cozy sweater features lovely fall foliage scattered across a background of chocolate brown. The leaves are fashioned from faux suede, except in the XS and XXS sizes, where they're embroidered for better leaf definition. That was thoughtful of them.
The sweater is hand-knitted from an acrylic wool blend, and has a detachable scarf. It's like two products in one! Well, it's exactly like two products in one.

As I mentioned, it's fall. And with fall comes cozy things. Cozy things like tea and quilts and yarn. Lots and lots of yarn. Yes, I like to knit. Especially on cool, overcast Sunday mornings with a mug of tea at the ready. If you like to knit, and if you have a dog who doesn't have an abundance of fur, you may have just found a use for all of that leftover yarn.
Dogs in Knits is a collection of knitting patterns for dogs (duh) that could adorn pooches from under 10 pounds to about 75 pounds. It assumes you have a basic understanding of knitting (knit, purl, etc.), and includes patterns for a cabled Aran sweater, Icelandic pullover, and for you more advanced knitters, Fair Isle.
One day I'm going to gather up all of Bliss' cast-off fur, spin it into yarn, knit a sweater, and put it on her. I don't know what the purpose of that would be other than to say I did it.
