KaysK9s Custom Needle Felted Miniature Dogs

Needlefelteddog I first read about needle felting in a dog magazine. Basically, you take fibers, like wool, and "push" and "punch" them using a special felting needle. The result is the wool "felts" and sticks to itself, and becomes a wonderful material for sculpting.

KaysK9s uses this needle felting technique to make adorable miniature dog sculptures. She works directly from pictures of your dog, and includes details right down to individual spots and markings. She can make them teeny-tiny at 4" tall, or itsy-bitsy at 1" tall. They take about 25 hours to create, and asks for 3 - 6 weeks to produce your order. Oh, and she even includes a little accessory like a tiny toy, collar, or bowl.

These things are so freaking cute.

Excuse me for a moment.

* OMG SQUUUUUUUUUUEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!*

Okay, I'm back now. Just had to get that out of my system.

Rachelle Oatman Dog Portraits

Racheloatmandogportraiture Now that pet portraiture is all the rage, having your dog pose for a traditional portrait is so 2006. Why not have a custom portrait of your dog in historical or modern clothing?

Anthropomorphic pets isn't new (see: William Wegman) but there's something that makes Rachelle's portraiture... unique.

Maybe it's the breasts.

Canine Heritage Breed Test

Dogdnacertificate "Where did I come from?" When purebred dogs ask that question, you can whip out the chart and show your little blue-blood's lineage all the way back to the old country. But when your lovable mixed-breed looks up at you with those big browns and you don't have the answer, what do you do? WHAT DO YOU DO?

Enter the Canine Heritage Breed Test. With a swipe of a swab, your dog's DNA is on its way to the lab where trained professionals will scientifically assess the genetic makeup of your mutt using the same space-age equipment NASA engineers use (or not). You even get a certificate, because it's, like, official and stuff.

Now you can tell your little fuzzbutt mommy was a Chow Chow-Sharpei mix, and daddy? Daddy was a wanderer.

Pug Purse

Pugpurse If your pug takes offense to having a leather strap attached to him and being slung over your shoulder, this pug purse might be a good option for you. Made of wool with leather paw pads, it measures about 10 inches long and can be stuffed with all kinds of goodies. Purse or real pug - both like this last feature.

Erwin Pearl Dog Pins

Erwinpearldogpin Okay, this is more for you than it is for your dog. Unless your dog likes brooches. And even if you dog likes brooches, we wouldn't recommend you pin one on them. Ouch. These are hand-painted French enamel pins in the likeness of over 50 breeds from Erwin Pearl. Do they make a Keeshond pin? Why, no they don't, thanks for asking (why don't these people understand you could basically repaint the Pomeranian and voila! Keeshond!?) In any case, these are cute and refined, and would look good on your, um, Hermes scarf or something.

I can't believe they don't have a Keeshond.
