Sojos Peanut Butter Honey Dog Treats

I came across these Sojos dog treats online in my search for new things to put on this blog, but then found them at the new dog boutique that opened in our neighborhood (more on that later!), so we were able to give them the ol' Bliss taste test.

Sojos specializes in healthy, natural food for dogs, and these treats are baked daily. Made with peanut butter, eggs and honey, they are now wheat- and corn-free. They smell really good. Very peanut buttery. I wanted to taste one myself.

Oh, and I love the packaging. Of course I do. Bright colors and polka dots? Please. Sold.

How did Bliss like them? Let's see:

I would say they are Bliss approved.

George "Chicken Snaps" Dog Treats

Treat_dog_chickensnaps_3 AHHHHHH! WATCH OUT! THE CHICKEN! IT SNAPS!

These are little dog cookies with a chicken "bite" to them (see what I did there?), and the words "good dog" emblazoned on them. Not that your dog can necessarily read (I mean, mine can, of course, but not everyone's dog can), but they'll just feel the good dogness radiating from the cookies.

And they come in package with a great label. Even though the chicken only has one leg. And apparently snaps.

Valentine Dog Cookies

Valentinedogtreats Kool Dog Kafe comes through again with doggie cookies that look good enough for humans to eat. Whole wheat flour, peanut butter and carob make up these yummy dog treats. Six to a box. Bliss gets five.

Christmas Dog Treat Tower

Christmasdogtreattower What's better than a dog treat? A TOWER OF DOG TREATS. Why stop at a single treat when you can offer an entire TOWER? There's a lot of treats in this package, stacked on top of each other, creating A TOWER OF TREATS. You get a mitten, six lights, four candy canes, two dipped bones, a snowflake and churro bites (what? No partridge in a pear tree?). Made with no preservatives, sugar or salt, they're decorated with carob or yogurt. A TOWER, I TELL YOU.

Hanukkah Dog Treats

Hanukkahdogtreats And for your Jewish doggies we present treats shaped like your favorite Hanukkah (Chanukkah? Channuka?) symbols. Look at the little dreidels! The little menorahs! The itty-bitty stars! And... are they...? YES! YES THEY ARE! LITTLE PUPPIES WEARING YARMULKES! Made with whole oatmeal, peanut butter, and eggs; I'm not sure they're kosher.

Greenies Dog Treats

Greeniesdogtreats I was apparently out of the loop on the Greenie front. All the dog owners I know would mention them in passing as if I was supposed to know what they were talking about, such as, "Well, Winston was acting up, but he just wanted his Greenie." So I looked into them. It turns out they're these green (hence the name), toothbrush-shaped treats that are supposed to help "brush" your dog's teeth. Oh, and I guess they had a problem earlier this year with them being not digestable enough, allegedly causing at least three dogs' deaths. So they reformulated them and are now ultra-digestable. If your dog merely looks at a Greenie it starts digesting.

I got a few for Bliss, and I have to say, she LOVES them. I hope they're actually brushing her teeth, too, because her teeth are getting pretty nasty. Go, Greenies, go!

Thanksgiving Dinner Dog Cookies

Lg_tnxdinner_wIf you don't think I'm getting this for Bliss for Thanksgiving dinner, you are sorely, sorely mistaken. Because how could you not get this for your dog? It's an amazing assortment of yummy yummy (I imagine) dog cookies shaped like the staples of a Thanksgiving feast: two drumsticks, one baked potato, two crescent rolls, two doggie bones (well, probably not a Thanksgiving staple at your house, but an apertif at mine),  one pumpkin, and one curry cranberry churro dessert.

Bliss will have to sit at the little kids' table, though.

Kong Stuff'N Treats

Inp034637large_f6d5 I can't believe I haven't tried this stuff until now. Bliss has had a Kong toy forever, and she showed absolutely no interest in it... until I used the Kong Stuff'N Treats. I stuffed in one of those little cookie treats and added the peanut butter paste (think Cheese Whiz for dogs), and she has been going at that thing all day. No exaggeration. She's sitting here right now trying to extract every last morsel from the thing.  It makes the Kong all slobbery and gross, but who cares? She's enjoying herself. And that's what it's all about.

Dog Birthday Cake

Lg_bdaycakew Man, I wish I had known about Kool Dog Kafe for Bliss' birthday. Although Bliss was very appreciative of her eggs-and-cheese dinner, it would have been nice to present her with a something a little more festive. And how festive is this? It's a vanilla-and-carob flavored cake decorated with little doggie bones and topped with a ball. The ball is not edible. It's just there for show. Don't let your dog get confused. It comes packaged in a cute Kool Dog Kafe box complete with customizable label.

Next year, Bliss, next year.

Candy Corn Dog Cookies

Candycorncookiel Here's the thing about candy corn. Really, really good for the first, oh, 25 corns or so. After that, they're the most disgusting things ever. I guess that's why they're only available once a year; because it takes you that long to forget that corn #26 was spun from pure evil.

These are cookies shaped like candy corns, and, although they're flavored with cinnamon and honey, will not give your dog that sugar shock inherent with the real thing. Made from human-grade ingredients, they come four to a pack... just watch out for that #4.
